Viticulture:

Sensory Characteristics:

  • Aroma – Red fruits, spice.
  • Flavor – Cherry, strawberry, baking spices, pepper, leather, tobacco.
  • Medium to high tannins and acidity.

History:

  • Name comes from the Spanish word “temprano” meaning “early”, probably due to its propensity to bud break and ripen earlier than other varietals.
